Lockdown Love Poetry

During a time when our world is living in fear of a virus and locked up in their own homes, creativity and imagination are rampant! Sure the idiots in charge can take my physical freedom but they can’t control my mind or my pen!  Here’s a few love poems/observations I’ve put together at a time the world needs more love.  I hope you enjoy xx

The Doorway To Us

I touch the door,

fingers attuned

to every nick and scratch.

Gently, gently I ease

and it opens,

Aware that I touch

not just solid wood

but ethereal flesh.

Treetops and clouds

burst into view,

endless reflections

of your precious face.

Here we are, beloved,

stillness and wonder,

calm and awe.

Here you are,

Reminding me of home.

A Monochrome Life

So many die

With many colours

In their heart

A brush in their hand

And yet an empty canvas

Love Like The Moon

I’ll always give you love

That you can liken

To the devotion

The sun has for the moon

Whether she is in fractions

Or she is whole

He shrouds her with his light

Throughout the darkness of the night

He gives her the entire sky

Without judgement

So she can shine

In any way she wants to

See you are adored

On days when you are

In broken fragments too

A sliver of yourself

We appreciate the different phases

of mother moon

Each uniquely beautiful

In their own way

You are no different

Like her, you deserve someone

Who lets you shine

In any way you want

Or need to

And every time we pass

As one rises and one falls

We’ll kiss, we’ll eclipse

The world needs the love

Of us both to shine
